I've been a daycare provider, owning and operating my own business in the same location since 1979. I've raised 2 wonderful sons of my own who are now 23 and 26 yrs. old. I became a single mom when they were 6 and 8 so to benefit them as well as my daycare kids; I attended many classes and have read many things over the years in early childhood education and child development.
I believe that building a positive self-esteem as well as lot's of TLC along with direction at a young age is vital to their development. My main goal is to teach children love and respect for each other as well as for themselves. In my daycare I provide simple learning as well as playtime with friends.
Children learn much just through interaction with each other. They learn patience, how to share, how to get along with others; through play they are developing small and large motor skills, eye hand coordination; they are learning to follow directions, to be helpful, good manners, and many other things.
Young children need a lot of one on one nurturing, and in my opinion it's vital to the development of a happy, healthy child. I feel I have much to give to a child… I love children and I love what I do. I believe that I have and do make a difference in the lives of the children in my care.
